I’m happy with how well Thatch’s beak movements work. Because of that, I think I can handle the rigging, which is attaching “bones” to Thatch’s neck and limbs to enable natural movements. Getting the feathers right will be the challenge. I don’t have a good handle on Blender’s particle system yet.

Chiefy: You OK?
Thatch: Yes, I’m fine.
Except that I can’t seem to move
Chiefy:I haven’t done your armature yet. No worries.
Chiefy: Right. I have to rig you so you can move properly.
Thatch: So it’s rigged. I figured as much. Don’t worry, I’ll cover for you.
Chiefy: Well, I appreciate your willingness to help.
Thatch: Don’t worry, boss, I’ve got your back. But I have to say, I didn’t know it was going to take this long.
Chiefy: That’s the trouble with world domination. It seems simple enough, but it always takes longer than you planned.
